June Makes

At the beginning of June I had very little time for personal sewing and wasn’t expecting to get a lot done this month. So I kicked off the month with a super quick and easy make- another Ruska T-Shirt from Breaking the Pattern by Named Clothing. This is one of my favourite patterns and is great for whipping up some quick basics.

I used a super soft leopard print cotton jersey from Textile Express this time. I have always been impressed with the quality of fabric and service from this store, so they are definitely worth checking out if you haven’t already. I have just bought more of the white organic cotton jersey I made my previous Ruska in for another 2 of these I love it so much!

Next up was another Mandy Boat Tee, a free pattern from Tessuti Fabrics. This is my fourth version of this and again, a super quick and satisfying make. I got this ex designer linen knit fabric from Fabric Godmother. It is a perfect top for our summers, nice and breathable but with a long sleeve cause… you know!?

Can you see me?!

I didn’t think I would have the time for this dress but I took a notion that I had to wear it to head on a day trip to London! And I am so happy I did! I mean how could I miss out on this photo op??

This is another Eloise dress from By Hand London in a beautiful Lady McElroy Viscose Crepe from Sister Mintaka. I love the colours of this print and the ‘brushstroke’ style of the flowers. I am definitely embracing prints and bright colours again.

Next up, my second pair of Joan Trousers by Friday Pattern Company. These trousers are the ultimate in comfort and only take a few hours to sew!! Definitely a win!

I used a Black Ponte fabric from the Fabric Room for this pair. I lost count already of how many time I have wore both items in the outfit above so they were definitely a good choice!

So that was it for June. I definitely didn’t get as much made as previous months even though I didn’t stop sewing. I added some great basics to my me-made wardrobe though and of course a fabulous dress!

I have some amazing plans for July, and it’s my birthday month (both in real life and insta!) so you know there will be some new fabrics to play with!

Happy sewing,
